IRB Initial Submission and Researcher Tasks

Audience: Research Community
Duration: 1.5 hours

This session introduces researchers to creating and submitting new IRB studies in WRAP. Participants will learn how to navigate the dashboard, complete each section of the SmartForm, attach required study documents, add study team members, and prepare and attach a protocol using HRPP Toolkit resources. The session also covers submitting the study, responding to clarification requests, assigning PI proxies and ancillary reviewers, withdrawing or discarding submissions, and copying prior studies.

Accessing and Managing Migrated Protocols from KC to WRAP

Audience: Research Community
Duration: 1.5 hours

This session provides researchers with step-by-step guidance on locating, reviewing, and updating IRB studies that have been migrated from KC to WRAP. Participants will learn how to verify migrated information, submit Modifications and Continuing Reviews (Mod/CR), upload required study documents, and assign PI proxies or ancillary reviewers. The session also covers closing migrated studies, creating site modifications for external IRB studies, and managing submission activities such as withdrawals and discards.

HRPP Toolkit

Audience: Research Community
Duration: One hour

This session will introduce the WVU Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Toolkit resources that complement WRAP submissions. Participants will learn about the toolkit’s components, including manuals, SOPs, worksheets, checklists, and templates, and how these documents guide IRB submissions and reviews in WRAP. The session also explains how researchers can access toolkit materials, use protocol templates, and reference applicable checklists and worksheets to ensure high-quality and compliant IRB submissions.

External IRB Submissions

This session guides researchers through creating and managing studies reviewed by an external IRB in WRAP. Participants will learn how to identify the IRB of record, complete the required SmartForm pages, upload supporting documents, and submit external IRB studies. The session also covers managing updates through site modifications.

This session provides researchers with guidance on managing post-approval responsibilities in WRAP. Participants will learn how to create and submit Continuing Reviews, Modifications, Study Closures, and Reportable New Information (RNI).

Proposal, Budget Entry, and SF424 (Standard Form 424)

Audience: Research Community
Duration: Two hours

This session will guide researchers through the process of creating and submitting a proposal, preparing a budget, and completing the SF424. Participants will also learn how to navigate WRAP, assign and manage ancillary reviews, validate, certify, and submit funding proposals for department review. The session will also cover responding to change requests, sending proposal status updates, addressing Just-in-Time (JIT) requests and high level award features.
