Below is a list of training sessions designed specifically for the offices that review, process and approve research submissions.   Look for the session(s) with your office or group listed as the audience and click on the registration link to sign up for the desired session.  Please note that you MUST register even if you have the time blocked on your calendar.

Proposal, Budget Entry & SF424 Submissions (Standard Form 424)

Audience: HSC Office of Research & Graduation Education (ORGE),  Research Connect Core Team Department Pre-Award

Duration: 2 hours

Description: This session will guide researchers through the process of creating and submitting a proposal, preparing a budget, and completing the SF424 form in the WRAP system. Participants will learn how to navigate WRAP, complete proposal SmartForms, prepare a budget, assign and manage ancillary reviews, validate, certify, and submit funding proposals for department review, including system-to-system submissions via the WRAP system. The session will also cover responding to change requests from department reviewers, sending proposal status updates, and addressing Just-in-Time (JIT) requests. This session will also cover award functionality from a researcher's perspective.

College, Department, or Unit Review

Audience: OSP Pre-Award and Research Connect Department Pre-Award Core Team

Duration: 1 hour

Description: This session will guide participants who will be responsible for conducting department reviews using the WRAP system, focusing on reviewing a proposal, how to request changes, and submit a department review of the funding proposals for OSP (Specialist) review.

Specialist (OSP Pre-Award) Review

Audience: Research Office OSP Pre-Award Staff

Duration: 1 hour

Description: This session will guide participants responsible for conducting the specialist review of proposals. Participants will learn the step-by-step process of reviewing proposals after they have been approved by the department and have entered the specialist review status. The session will cover assigning specialists, reviewing proposals, requesting and verifying changes, modifying ancillary reviews, submitting proposals to federal sponsors and responding to just-in-time (JIT) requests, and updating proposal statuses based on sponsor determinations.

Award Setup & Submission

Audience:  Research Office OSP Award Initiation and Management Staff, Shared Services

Duration: 2 hours

Description: This session will focus on the processes involved in creating and completing awards in the WRAP system. Participants will learn how to create an award, notify needed departments of proposal status changes, and manage the award setup after sponsor approval. The session will also cover managing award allocations, reconciling award budgets, establishing advance accounts, creating sub-awards, and managing related agreements.

Award Review and Modification 

Audience:  Research Office OSP Award Initiation and Management (AIM) Staff, Shared Services

Duration: 2 hour

Description: This session will guide participants through the processes of initiating and conducting award reviews, requesting and responding to changes, submitting final reviews, managing award modifications, handling ancillary reviews, and award closeout.

Agreements Review & Processing

Audience: Agreement Offices (OSP Award Negotiation, OIC, OGC, COE/CTSI)

Duration: 1.5 hours

Description: This session will guide participants through the process of reviewing agreements in the WRAP system, including assigning ownership, reviewing agreements, requesting and responding to clarifications, generating draft agreements, and managing ancillary reviews.

COI Reviewers (Conflict of Interest)

Audience: Research Office Conflict of Interest (COI) Staff

Duration: 1 hour

Description: This training session will cover the process of conducting both intermediate and final reviews of Conflict of Interest (COI) disclosures and pre-approval requests in the WRAP system. Participants will learn each step of the review process, including requesting clarifications and managing ancillary reviews.

Participants will learn how to assign ancillary reviewers, check the progress of reviews, modify ancillary reviews, and submit completed reviews. change description
